Chesterfield Fire and Rescue has regular meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. We encourge every member to attend as this is a learning experience for every member of the department. Meetings consist of monthly maintenance and equipment checks on the first meeting of the month and training on the second meeting of the month. Every training opportunity allows members to learn new skills or reinforce previously learned skills and to learn other members abilities, developing trust in each other.
North Carolina requires that every member have thirty-six training hours per year, to be a firefighter in North Carolina. Training does not have to be taken at Chesterfield Fire Department as other departments have training classes that members can attend to obtain experience and hours. There are also several Fire/Rescue colleges, held throughout the state, that members can attend and obtain training. Below you will find a training schedule for January.
